Termed as the semi-finale of the 2024 Lok Sabha Election, Assembly Poll Results of 4 states were declared on Sunday with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) likely to win in 3 out of 4 states. If the BJP manages to win the election in three states, then it means the Congress party could not manage to win the Hindi Heartland i.e. Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. However, the grand old party is expected to secure victory in Telangana defeating the Bharat Rashtra Samithi - BHRS and the BJP. Now, the question arises what are the takeaways of the Assembly Election 2023 Results, and what does it hint at on the upcoming 2024 General Elections? True Scoop News breaks down Election Results 2023 takeaways in 5 points-
1) Hindu Votes consolidation
The biggest takeaway after the 2023 Assembly Election result is the consolidation of Hindu votes in favour of the BJP. The election in five states had become Modi vs INDIA alliance, hence it was called as semi-final of the 2024 Lok Sabha Election. With BJP winning in three states, it hints that the Hindu Vote Bank of the saffron party has been consolidated. It is pertinent to mention here that the Congress party had tried to break the Hindu Vote bank of the BJP by talking about the Caste Census. Notably, Bihar conducted a caste census successfully under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav. Following that, the opposition parties had promised that they would conduct the same if they came to power. While at first, it seemed people were in favour of the caste census, the INDIA alliance leaders' controversial remarks on Sanatan Dharma may have dented their image and bolstered BJP's Hindu bank. For the unversed, MK Stalin's son Udhayanidhi and others had compared Sanatan Dharma to disease and called out for its eradication from India.
2) Modi wave still prevalent
Notably, BJP's victory in the multiple states election showcases that the Modi wave is still prevalent and the INDIA alliance still needs to do a catch-up to give the BJP a tough fight, especially in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections next year. Notably, MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan clearly stated that the BJP won the Madhya Pradesh election under the leadership of PM Modi.
3) A big thumbs up to the duo of PM Modi and Amit Shah
Another takeaway is that the INDIA alliance, especially the Congress party failed to bring down the hype of PM Modi and Amit Shah. Both PM Modi and Amit Shah were the face of the Parivartan Rally that took place in Rajasthan. State leaders did not gain much traction. Furthermore, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid a visit to Chhattisgarh which was termed as the Congress stronghold. Not only this, many exit polls had predicted that the Bhupesh Baghel government would come back to power. However, Chhattisgarh CM Baghel's name link to the Mahadev Betting App Scam case may have dented the Congress party image in the state.
Furthermore, the BJP did not announce the CM faces in poll-bound state. It suggested that the saffron party fought the elections with PM Modi and Amit Shah as their face.
4) Central Agencies to amp up investigation
With BJP performing outstanding the multiple state elections in 2023, it is now expected that the central agencies i.e. ED, and CBI will increase their action against the tainted leaders. As mentioned above, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel's name popped up in the Mahadev Betting App scam case, therefore, the central agencies are likely to crack down on the INDIA alliance leaders. Furthermore, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is facing ED trouble as well in the alleged Delhi Liquor scam case.
5) Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, a big win for the BJP
The construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, UP has indeed created a strong image of the BJP. Notably, over three years after the foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the date for the consecration ceremony of Ayodhya's Ram Temple has been decided – on January 22, 2024. Once, the Ram Mandir opens for the common people, the BJP is expected to bolster its Hindu vote bank even more and it may turn out to be a deciding factor for the BJP in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha Election.
