Republic Day was celebrated with great pomp in Punjab today. Addressing the gathering after unfurling the national flag during a function to commemorate 76th Republic Day in local Polo Ground, the Chief Minister said that Punjab is the land of the gurus, saints, seers, martyrs and has always been a torch bearer to mankind for values of brotherhood and communal harmony.
On Republic Day, all the school students participated in programs. Due to this, holiday has been declared in schools on 27th January in multiple districts of Punjab. The districts in which holiday has been declared are as follows.
Here's the list of districts:
- Jalandhar - Cabinet Minister Aman Arora has announced holiday in all government/private schools and colleges in Jalandhar.
- Amritsar - Holiday has been declared in all schools participating in the Republic Day celebrations.
- Tarn Taran - Holiday has been declared in all the schools by the Deputy Commissioner of Tarn Taran.
- Nawanshahr - Holiday has been declared in all the schools of Nawanshahr.
- Rupnagar - The chief guest who reached Rupnagar for the Republic Day celebrations has announced a holiday in all schools.
- Mohali - Holiday has been declared in all the schools on 27th January by the Deputy Commissioner in Mohali.
- Fazilka - The chief guest who reached Fazilka has announced holiday in all government/private schools and colleges.
- Ferozepur - Holiday has been declared in all the schools in Ferozepur also.
- Abohar - SDM in Abohar has declared holiday in all government/private schools, colleges.
- Moga - Holiday has been declared on 27th January in Moga.
- Barnala - Holiday has been declared in all schools by the Deputy Commissioner.
- Mansa - Deputy Commissioner of Mansa has declared holiday in all government/private schools and colleges.
