Five youths died after being burnt alive in a horrific road accident in Hoshiarpur, Punjab late on Friday night. Their car was violently hit by a truck near Dasuya on the Jalandhar-Pathankot highway. The deceased were all residents of Jalandhar identified as Rishabh Minhas, Inder Kaundal, Raju, Abhi, resident of Bhargav Camp and Ankit Kumar, resident of Ghas Mandi. All of them were going from Jalandhar to Pathankot in a car. The police have taken their dead bodies and damaged vehicles into custody.
Eyewitness Gurmeet Singh informed that he was coming from Mukerian towards Dasuha in his car with his friends. When he reached near Uchi Bassi village, he saw that flames were coming out of the Jalandhar number vehicle. The accident happened just a minute or two before his arrival.
Witnesses somehow pulled out 4 people. Two people had died, two were still breathing. Another one had somehow come out on his own who was sent to the hospital first (died during treatment). After this the Police was informed. Police and ambulance arrived for investigation but by then two others had also died.
Gurmeet told that after sending everyone to the hospital, he left the scene and saw the truck overturned in the bushes about 500 metres ahead whose driver was trapped in it. He too was somehow taken out and sent to the hospital. Gurmeet told that the truck driver had fled from there after hitting the car. But later he also became a victim of an accident.
As soon as information about the incident was received, fire department teams also reached the spot. Who brought the fire in the car under control after about half an hour. Some heart-wrenching videos of the grim scene have also surfaced. The accident was so severe that many body parts of the deceased had fallen off scattered around.
