United States Presidential Elections has just happened, votes are being counted and the nation is yet to know about its new President. As of now, Joe Biden has taken lead over Republican counterpart with 264 votes, while Donald Trump stands behind him at 214.

However, Donald Trump does not contend with the votes he has secured and has claimed that the election is a fraud and he wants the votes to be counted again. Also, according to the news report, Joe Biden early on Thursday has won the battleground of Michigan which is the second of three Rust Belt "blue wall" states that Biden has won after Trump had flipped them four years ago.

Trump has now filed a lawsuit in the US Supreme Court and the verdict is yet to come.

It is pertinent to mention here, Donald Trump is not an easy-going personality; he will try his hands on left remedies too. Nevertheless, according to expert analysis, winning of Biden or Trump won't strain US relations with India as the latter will continue to enjoy the win-win situation.

But, somehow Trump's defeat is linked to PM Modi and his plans. It is possible enough that Trump's "haar" can shatter the dreams of Modi "sarkar" and the reason for this is "similarities" which Trump-Modi shares.

* Nationalist: A common attribute of Trump and Modi is "nationalist." Leaders of the world's two giant democracies are nationalists and put their nation before anything else. In every speech of either PM Modi or President Trump, you will sense the nationalism, favoritism, and tenderness towards their nation as they say "My Nation First." Going by the media reports, 64% of people hailing from Asia region has voted against Trump as he is inclined more towards natives of America.

* Animosity towards Minorities: World's two leaders which are recognized by all show animosity towards the minorities. Either PM Modi or Donald Trump, they will put the natives of their country on priority and will show resentment towards the minorities. In India, PM Modi brought two laws i.e. Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) which as per Muslim minority and the opposition leaders subdue the voice of the Muslim community and put their faith in democracy in disdain. However, Trump in the USA has been negligent towards the Black Lives Matter campaign which emerged following the death of George Floyd, a black man who was killed by White police officers early in 2020.

Thus, their attitude towards minorities has put their vote bank at stake and Trump is cognizing this fact now. Reportedly, 87% of 'black' have chosen Biden over Trump in the 2020 elections.

* Hallucination: PM Modi and Donald Trump both have been able to grab the attention of the citizens by making false claims and by making them believe in their hallucination. The world is grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic and Donald Trump used the coronavirus situation in his election manifesto. He promised to bring Covid-19 vaccine for the Americans before the elections but no native of the country has yet received the shot of dose against infection.

Even in India, the election manifesto of PM Modi said “Ache din aane wale hain,” however, as per the opposition’s allegations BJP government has been incapable to bring days of prosperity for Indians. The rate of unemployment, shrinking GDP, Covid-19 handling is under the lens of Opposition leaders.

* Illiberal: The world has been evident of the fact PM Modi and Donald Trump are illiberal figures, who never transform their ideas once executed. To quote an instance, Trump’s aggressive approach towards China has helped create a trade war more virulent than any seen in decades. He has also blamed China for spreading Covid-19 and halted funding of the World Health Organization (WHO). Whereas in India, PM Modi is being unmindful towards the agitated farmers’ protest over contentiously passed new Farm Laws.

Consequently, these similarities between Trump and Modi would pave a difficult path for the latter to win in the upcoming elections. Unlike the USA, the people of India choose their representatives, MPs who further elect the Prime Minister. Whereas in the United States, citizens cast their votes to elect the President. However, the approaching elections will not be based on the person’s face-front just like they have been for the previous two elections thus, Indira Gandhi’s regime would be adopted again.
