Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became the talk of the town as soon as the royal couple decided to tell their side of the story. Meghan and Harry for the very first time have come in front of the camera to show their perspective on the British Royal family and drift between them. The docu-series named Harry & Meghan Volume 1 was released on 8th December 2022 exclusively on Netflix. The 3 episodes of the web series were filled with Harry and Meghan’s interview on their beautiful love story and settling into a royal family, interviews of journalists, friends, and family members of the couple. The episodes even brought out how difficult it was for both Meghan and Harry to settle into each other’s world as both came from totally different families.
Although all the episodes were full of revelations of shocking secrets by the royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the most shocking statement came out to be by Prince Harry. Price Harry in the ending of episode 3 revealed that he is somewhere the reason for a drift between Meghan and her father. He further added that he shoulders the blame of Meghan and her father parting their ways and never talking to each other.
At the very start of the second episode of Harry & Meghan, Meghan Markle revealed that she was very young when her parents parted their ways and started living separately. Meghan was raised by her mother single-handedly but was very close to her dad as well. She admits that she was her ‘father’s girl.’ There were many videos of them also that surfaced of both of them enjoying together and having the best of time. But this sweet relationship went through various ups and downs after the news of Prince Harry marrying American actress Meghan Merkle broke out.
The documentary series unfolded that during the time of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding, a lot of newspapers and media organizations were offering a huge amount of money to the couple’s family and friends to state something negative about them. Meghan just 3 days prior to her wedding with Prince Harry received information that her father Thomas Markle is getting some set-up images clicked and is getting a handsome amount for the same. These pictures were of him doing exercise, reading magazines about Royal Family, etc. When Meghan further questioned her father on this is vehemently refused to it. Meghan then asked her father to come to her so that he does not have to face harassment by the media the very next day but Thomas Markle refused to do so. These gestures instilled a thought of doubt in Meghan Markle’s mind that her father was surely lying and that she can’t trust her. The very next day when the news broke out, another piece of information spurred up that Thomas Markle has suffered a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital. This created a tense atmosphere and Meghan along with Prince Harry tried to reach out to her dad to know the truth but received no response from his side. Another piece of information that surfaced was Thomas Markle had decided that he will not make his daughter walk down the aisle on her wedding day. At the end, when Meghan had called her dad around 20 times, a message came from his number saying that he is done with what all has happened and due to its stress has suffered a heart attack. He further requested in the message that Meghan should not try contacting her. This message raised doubts in Meghan’s mind as she thought that someone else was messaging from his phone as her father used a lot of emojis, ellipses and always called her Meg not Meghan. Post this, Thomas Markle and Meghan Markle never spoke to each other and their father-daughter bond was broken forever.
In the end of the episode Prince Harry says that he finds himself responsible for the situation because if Meghan would not been marrying Prince Harry, this would never have happened. He said, “I shoulder the responsibility of M’s relationship with her father,”
