Team India on Thursday will lock horns with England in semi-final 2 of the T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit Sharma & Co will lock horns with the Jos Buttler-led squad at Providence Stadium, Guyana. South Africa has already qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024 final after defeating high-spirited Afghanistan by 9 wickets.  Notably, fans around the world are worried whether the INDIAvENGLAND Semi Final 2 will take place or not. For those who are unaware, rain has been forecasted in Guyana and INDvsENG T20 WC Semi-Final 2 may get wahsout. Not only this, the ICC has not kept any reserve day for the India vs England Semi-Final game. A reserve day is generally kept by the ICC in case rain plays a spoilsport in any knockout matches. South Africa vs Afghanistan match also had a reserve day but not INDvsENG.

What if the India vs England T20 World Cup Semi-Final gets washed out?

Since Team India has won all of its group-stage matches, the Men In Blue will automatically qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024 final. Now, the question arises why there was no reserve day for Semi-Final 2. As per Cricinfo, there is only one day's gap between the second semi-final in Guyana and the final in Barbados, unlike the first semi-final in Trinidad. To give the second finalists enough time to rest between matches, it has been decided to not have a reserve day.

Notably, the minimum amount of overs that will be needed for the semi-final match to be counted is at least 10 overs. An ICC Spokesperson was quoted saying that INDvsEND needs to start by approximately 4.14 pm (West Indies Timing) for a 10-over match. Notably, In West Indies Local Time, the India vs England scheduled time is 10:30 AM local time. In India, the same time is 8 pm (IST).

Talking about the Guyana pitch,  the pitch is likely to aid spinners, and teams batting first have won three of the five encounters at this venue during this World Cup. Again, very little to cede advantage one way or the other. Overcast conditions may also play a major factor.
