On 6th July, the HP Board of School Examinations (HPBoSE) declared the result of class 10th who appeared in the session of 2020-21.
The percentage ratio of the candidates that passed the examination has been higher and the mean percentage is recorded as 99.7 percent and as per the reports, the result was delayed because of the orders delivered by the court.
1,16,954 students were enrolled for grade 10th this year and the result is available at hpbose.org.
This time, the evaluation criterion was based on the performances of the students in the first term, second term, pre-board, and internal assessment exams of their academic session. Board examination was not held this time due to the increase in COVID-19 cases and to ensure the safety of children.
The HPBOSE the Class 10 Matric regular and SOS exams were scheduled to be conducted between April 13 and April 28. This year, all the students will be promoted to grade 11 as per norms suggested by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for their students, the Himachal Pradesh Government has said.
As per the record of the board, last year, over 1.04 lakh students who appeared for the exam, 70,571 students – 68.11 percent – managed to clear the exam.5,617 students had to appear for the compartmental exam while the rest had failed. In 2019, 60.79 percent of students had cleared the board examination.
In 2020, the pass percentage was 71.56 percent among the students of the general category, 62.59 percent, and 63.88 percent for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe category students, respectively.

Those students who didn’t attempt the Hindi examination on April 13, by the board are scheduled to give the exam on July 12. The students have been directed to report to the board headquarter on July 12 at 10 am.
According to the marking scheme of the HPBOSE, the Hindi exam is also to be included as a result declaration component. However, some students were not able to report to the center due to COVID-19, and only average marks were awarded to them.
Those candidates who are not happy with their results can appear for re-examination. The exam will be conducted on July 12 from 11 am to 2 pm. The students need to carry a certificate which states that they were affected by COVID-19 on April 13.
The email to attend the re-exam needs to be sent to the Secretary, HPBoSE in advance through email by July 9. The email address of the Secretary is hpbosesocond1.19@gmail.com. The valid Covid-19 positive report is mandatory to be attached to the email.

The class 10 merit
list is not yet declared by the HP board as some students will appear for the
special Hindi examination on July 12. The merit list will be declared after the
result of the Hindi exam is announced.
