As India entered into the second phase of lockdown, an upsetting video has surfaced online which shows bears looking for food desperately at a temple in Chhattisgarh. The one minute forty nine second clip was shared on Twitter by Indian Forest Service officer Parveen Kaswan on Monday.
The bears are dependent on food that is provided to them by devotees who visit the temple regularly. Due to the nationwide coronavirus lockdown, however, temples are shut and the bears thus, are devoid of food.
The video was shared by IFS Parveen Kaswan with the caption, "Temples are closed. So sloth bears are not finding any food. Coming and going back. Here two scrambling the dustbin or playing with it in temple in Chhattisgarh. That is why it is suggested that wild animals should not be provided food."
