The President of the USA, Donald Trump hasn't been shy when it comes to holding China accountable for causing the spread of the coronavirus. Earlier this year, a very vocal Trump also issued public statements asking the people to call the virus for what it was... "A Chinese Virus." Trump was quoted saying “It came from China. It should have never been allowed to get out. They could have stopped it. They could have stopped it easily. They chose not to. And we’ll have further reports on that. But it came from China. They could have stopped it, but they didn’t. They stopped it from going into China, but they didn’t stop it from going to the rest of the world. It didn’t stop it from going to Europe, to us,”.
More than 14.7 million people have been infected and more than 600,000 have lost their lives globally due to the coronavirus. The United States alone had more than 4 million infections and 143,000+ deaths. On the contrary, China has only had 85,921 confirmed cases out of which 80,519 people have already recovered and 4,653 people have lost their lives so far.
He was also heard saying “They should have stopped it. They could have stopped it. They weren’t transparent at all; they were the opposite. It’s not good,.”
China, on the other hand, has repeatedly denied claims of "covering up". They in turn accused the United States of attempting to divert public attention by "insinuating that the virus originated from a virology lab in Wuhan".
Trump reportedly spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron and Egypt President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Monday over the pandemic.
He added-“And all of us, and all of us together -- I've had many conversations with leaders all over the world over the weekend, and the last couple of weeks in particular. And this is a pandemic that is flaring up all over the place. Countries thought they were in good shape and then, all of a sudden, they have a big flare-up.”
Trump also claims that the USA has been helping a lot of countries since the virus first began spreading globally- “We're helping a lot of countries. They don't have ventilators, and we're sending thousands of ventilators to different countries. But I do want people to understand this is a worldwide problem caused by China, but it's a worldwide problem.”
“Countries are going through hell. We're going to give you a lot of briefings in the next week and over the next few weeks as to -- I think it's very important to do it, the vaccines and the therapeutics. I think I'm going to bring some of the great companies that are working, and very successfully in the past have worked on these things, and they're going to tell you very specifically what they're doing and how they're doing. But we think we're doing very well in that regard.”
Earlier in May this year, the U.S saw a whopping 40 million people losing their jobs and over 3.8 million citizens filling for "Jobless Benefits."
"Lockdowns" took a toll on the global economy with the U.S being one of the worst-hit countries. In March, the market reacted to "recent unpredictability" with large drops, triggering a marketwide circuit breaker four times in March. The "safeguard" pauses trading for 15 minutes in hopes the market will calm.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission mandated the creation of "market-wide circuit-breakers" to prevent a repeat of the October 19, 1987 market crash, in which the Dow plunged 22.6%. Since then, they have only been triggered once in 1997 before being triggered for a record four times this March!
“But this is happening all over the world, not just the United States. And it’s a tough one. It’s very tough. It’s very sad when you see death. It’s all death that could have — could’ve been stopped by China. If they wanted to stop it, they could’ve stopped it,”- he said.
Finally, when reporters asked President Trump if he possessed or had seen any "Substantial Proof" that China deliberately let the virus spread, he responded by saying "Yes, I have. Yes, I have but, I can't tell you that. I'm not allowed to tell you that."
