Amrit Kaur Gill, a female IAS official in Punjab, has asked the government for permission for premature retirement. She has submitted an application for the Volunteer Retirement Scheme (VRS). As per the service rule, she has given 3 months’ notice to the government. She also resigned as the Managing Director of Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (PUNSAP).
There are discussions that IAS Gill was reportedly dissatisfied with the present Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's attitude and the senior officers appointed by them. Although neither the government nor Amrit Kaur Gill has officially commented on this yet.
