Tina Dabi and Athar Aamir, Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, are officially divorced now. Their wedding in 2018 was in the headline and many politicians were present to bless the couple. Their request for divorce has been granted by the Jaipur family court.
Tina Dabi topped Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam in the year 2015 and Athar Khan ranked second. Their romance and wedding is no less than a scripted movie. Reportedly, the couple filed for divorce in a family court in November.
Tina Dabi and her now ex-husband are officers of the Rajasthan cadre and both were posted in Jaipur. Presently, Athar Khan is posted in Srinagar and is on deputation with Jammu and Kashmir government.
Tina Dabi completed her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi and was in the headlines after she became the first Dalit woman to top the UPSC exam, that too in the first attempt.
Both met each other during their training and were married in April 2018 in Delhi. Their wedding reception in Delhi was attended by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Union Ministers and then Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
The IAS couple was in the headlines because of inter-caste marriage, at that time country caught a debate on “love-jihad.” But Tina said that she is not affected by the uproar and their love is above any religious divides.
The rift in their marriage was out in public last year when Tina removed “Khan” from her social media name and after some time both unfollowed each other on social media.
