IAS Pooja Money Fraud Case: IAS officer Pooja Singhal's journey from family to the job has been surrounded by controversies. However, even before this, the journey of IAS officer Pooja Singhal from family to the job has been surrounded by controversies. During her stay on the job, wherever she was posted, she faced many serious allegations of corruption and irregularities. Whereas in this initial phase, family life was not good either.
After achieving success in the country's most prestigious competitive examination, IAS Pooja Singhal's first marriage was to IAS officer Rahul Purwar. But during the initial years, due to some personal reasons, a dispute started between the two and then after a divorce, Pooja Singhal married Abhishek Jha. After this marriage, there was some peace in Pooja Singhal's family life, but in the meantime, she was accused of over-ambitiousness and benefitting the business interests of her husband and in-laws for a long time.
19.31 crore cash received so far
During the ongoing raids on Jharkhand's Mines Secretary Pooja Singhal, the ED has been able to seize several important documents and Benami property papers along with Rs 19.31 crore in cash on the first day. According to information received from sources, documents related to unaccounted assets of about Rs 150 crore have been found with Pooja Singhal, which is being investigated by the ED team.
However, this has not yet been officially confirmed by the ED. On Friday, the ED team conducted simultaneous raids in various locations in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi, Bihar's Muzaffarpur, Delhi NCR and West Bengal's Kolkata. During this, about Rs 17 crore cash was found from the house of a CA close to Pooja Singhal in Ranchi.
It is being told that she had kept a bed of money in the house. Apart from this, there are also reports of getting immovable assets worth Rs 8 crore from her, but this has not been officially confirmed yet. At the same time, Kameshwar Jha, father-in-law of Pooja Singhal, has also been arrested by Madhubani in Bihar.
Name in many scams
While being the Deputy Commissioner in Chatra, Pooja Singhal gave Rs 6 crore to two NGOs from the MNREGA scheme. The question also arose in the assembly in this matter, but later she got a clean chit.
Whereas during her tenure as Deputy Commissioner in Khunti district, the name came in the scam of Rs 16 crore in MNREGA, which is currently being investigated by the ED. Earlier, during her tenure as Deputy Commissioner in Palamu, Pooja Singhal was accused of ignoring the rules in the allocation of Kathautia coal block to Usha Martin Group.
Poison Needle Attack
During the tenure of Deputy Commissioner in Chatra, one day suddenly it was reported that Naxalites had attacked Pooja Singhal with a poisonous needle, while she was hurriedly admitted to Apollo Hospital in Irba, where her life was saved.
Although it is also discussed that she tried to kill herself by consuming poison, later there was no case of any kind, so an attempt was made to give the case a Naxalite attack.
Topper from school to university, many good records in service too
Born in Dehradun, Singhal completed her graduation from Garhwal University Dehradun and then cleared the IAS exam in her first attempt. She has been on the toppers list from her school days to university exams and has a very good academic track record.
After becoming IAS, while working in Hazaribagh as SDO, she busted various godowns and illegal sale of books given to children by the education project. For the first time in Jharkhand, a handicap survey was also conducted to collect data on physically handicapped people from Pooja Singhal itself. People also remember her contribution as RIMS Director. She played a big role in improving the system of the biggest government hospital in the state.
