Varun Roojam, 2004-batch IAS officer, who has been serving as Managing Director, Marketing Federation (MARKFED), is now also given the charge of Special Principal Secretary to Deputy CM Sukhjinder Randhawa.
Roojam is given this appointment as Special Principal Secretary in addition to his present assignment as MD MARKFED.
He had earlier also rendered his services as Director Information and Public Relation, Special Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Deputy Commissioner in District Mukatsar, SAS Nagar Mohali, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Amritsar and Patiala.
He completed his Bachelor of Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. He belonged to an educated family of the region.

His father L.R. Roojam was a distinguished legal luminary who retired from the post of District and Sessions Judge in the year 2004. After retirement Mr. L.R. Roojam had also served in the Punjab State Human Rights Commission as a member from the year 2009 to 2014.
