Manchester:  The World Cup semi-final match between India and New Zealand was called off on Tuesday and it will resume on Wednesday, the scheduled reserve day, at 1500 hrs due to adverse weather conditions here at Old Trafford.

Rain played spoilsport as the match was not continued after 46.1 overs and the match will continue where it was halted. New Zealand will complete their 50-over innings and India will then complete their 50-over innings depending on the weather.

As per the rain rules of the International Cricket Council for the semi-finals and the final, the umpires must try to complete the match on the scheduled match day by using the available extra time and by reducing the number of overs down to a minimum of 20 overs per team in order to achieve a result.

If there is still no result on the scheduled match day, play will continue on the reserve day, using the same start time and hours of play as the scheduled match day.

New Zealand were 211/5 in 46.1 overs with Taylor 67 and Tom Latham 3 on the crease, when rain interrupted the play.
If the match cannot be completed on Wednesday as well, India would go through to Sunday's final at Lord's on the basis of having finished first to New Zealand's fourth in the 10-team league stage.
