The Government of The U.S.A has barred those international students from entering their country who've recently enrolled themselves in "American Colleges and Universities" and who's classes are to be conducted online. These new guidelines have been issued by the Immigration and Custom Enforcement of the Trump administration. The majority of international students within thier country are Chinese nationals followed by Indian nationals.

What is in the these guidelines?

On the statements released by the I.C on Friday night, it was stated that the students that have enrolled themselves in American Educational Institutions after the 9th of March 2020 will not be allowed to enter the country next year. The I.C stated that they will be categorized as "Non Immigrant Students" as their entire semister will be completed online. For this, the educational institutes will be asked to issue a new form called I-20. Through the I-20 form they hope to keep a check on the eligibility status of the "non immigrant students"

The I.C claims that these guidelines had already been issued on the 9th of March under the "students and exchange visitor program". The I.C has been instructed that it will now be their responsibility to ensure that all international students abide by these guidelines moreover, it has instructed the educational institues to promote the idea of "distance learning". In other words, these guidelines have been specifically been issued to promote "online classes" amongst international students. Finally, they've stated that these instructions have been issued while considering the "coronavirus pandemic".

Two weeks earlier, the I.C had issued a similar notice. In this earlier notice, international students were restricted from entering the U.S while at the same time directing those students to leave the country who's classes were being conducted online. Educational institutions along with international students had collectively protested against these directions after which the I.C decided to make ammendments to their previously issued guidelines.

Dualistic Standards?

Many have claimed that the Trump administrative's behaviour against the international students is simply appaling. The Govt. of The United States wants to reopen schools despite an increase in the coronavirus cases. 18 out of 50 states along with approximately 200 universities has protested against this decesion.
