As the Taliban seized control over Afghanistan, millions of women and children see a dark future ahead. With the Taliban leading the nation, women would be stripped of their rights and will continue their lives under terror.

Meanwhile, the Taliban has announced that there will be no democratic system in the country and Sharia Law will be implemented. Notably, according to Sharia law, men are obliged to grow beards and for women, there are numerous restrictions. Women can’t step outside their houses without a male companion, are not allowed to work and much more.

With Taliaban’s comeback, women who fought against the terror group, social activists and journalists fear death. The little development Afghan women witnessed in the past two decades is now set to vanish. Many women have started wearing burqas and burning their education proof.

However, this time Taliban has claimed that they respect women and will provide rights according to Islamic laws. Women will be allowed to work and study. Women are not required to wear a burqa, however, they have to wear a hijab.

But, the women social activists in Afghanistan and all over the world doubt the intentions of Taliban in providing women rights. Besides, according to several media reports, the groud reality differs from what Taliban is saying. There have been reports suggesting forceful marriage, girl students being barred from schools, Taliban militants whitewashing women posters outside saloons and other buildings and killing of women for not wearing ‘proper clothing or leaving home without a male companion.
