On Thursday, the India men’s hockey team defeated Germany 5-4 in a bronze medal match and ended the 41-year-old wait for an Olympics medal in hockey. The last time, when India won the medal in hockey at Olympics was at Moscow Games in 1984, where they earned a Gold medal.
Today, the whole nation is proud of its boys, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi who skipped his morning yoga session to cheer the boys.

After the historic win, PM Modi tweeted, “Historic! A day that will be etched in the memory of every Indian. Congratulations to our Men's Hockey Team for bringing home the Bronze. With this feat, they have captured the imagination of the entire nation, especially our youth. India is proud of our Hockey team.”
President Ram Nath Kovind also congratulated the men’s hockey team and tweeted, “Congratulations to our men's hockey team for winning an Olympic Medal in hockey after 41 years. The team showed exceptional skills, resilience & determination to win. This historic victory will start a new era in hockey and will inspire the youth to take up and excel in the sport.”
