India has restricted Australia on 236 runs after being asked to bowl first in the first ODI at Hyderabad. India played their full strength squad with Jasprit Bumrah leading the pace attack.
Ravindra Jadeja was the most economical bowler after conceding only 33 runs but went wicketless. Shami, Bumrah and Yadav claimed two wickets each while Kedar Jadhav got one.
In the Australian innings,Usman Khwaja was the top scorer in the Australian innings scoring 50 off 76 balls. Glenn Maxwell also scored a patient knock of 40 runs.
"First 10 overs are very crucial. Jasprit and Shami bowled really well. They gave 25 runs in 8 overs and one wicket. I am coming back from the break of 20 days so I took time to get back in the rhythm. This wicket is very slow and I wanted to mix-up my variations. After 2 overs, I realised wicket is slow so I tried to bowl slower. Handscomb wicket was very special. If you have three-four variations then it is difficult to choose one. I am sticking with my chinaman delivery more often and bowling the wrong one occasionally." said Kuldeep Yadav after first innings.
