The second day of the first Test in Chennai between India and England continues. England have completed 400 runs losing 4 wickets. Captain Joe Root and Ollie Pope are at the crease. Ben Stokes was out for 82 off 118 balls. He was caught by Shahbaz Nadeem at the hands of Cheteshwar Pujara. There was a 124-wicket partnership for the fourth wicket between Root and Stokes.
Now, Joe Root has become the world's first batsman to score a double century in his 100th test. Not only Root became the first batsman to hit a double century at his 100th test but also he broke the record of Pakistan's Inzamam-ul-Haq who had scored 184 runs in his 100th Test in 2005.

Root reached his double hundred in style as he struck a long six on the ball of Ravi Ashwin.
