The Indian Cricket team is all set to take on England starting from tomorrow at the Chepauk stadium in the four-match test series. England will be taking on India in a four-Test series beginning February 5, followed by five T20Is and three ODIs. The Virat Kohli-led side would be high on confidence following their recent memorable Test series win over Australia in their own backyard. The upcoming series for England is one of the most vital keeping the world test championships in mind.
However, more than the excitement of International cricket returning to India after the pandemic, the farmer's protest has created huge chaos. Most of the cricketers took to Twitter and appealed to the people of India to stay united against external forces.
However, Virat in the pre-match press conference revealed that the discussions on farmers' issues also took place at the team meeting. In the press conference, Virat said, "Any issue in the country is discussed by everyone. We briefly discussed that in the team meeting as well."
On Wednesday, Virat had written, "Let us all stay united in this hour of disagreements. Farmers are an integral part of our country and I'm sure an amicable solution will be found between all parties to bring about peace and move forward together."
Rishabh Pant To Play Tomorrow:
Virat said, "Rishabh Pant will start tomorrow. He had a massive impact in Australia and he's in good headspace, we want to continue with him. He has come along nicely after IPL and has worked hard on his fitness and game. We were very happy to see him flourish."
"The camaraderie within the team is based on trust. Jinx (Ajinkya Rahane) fulfilled his duties in Australia with flying colours. We enjoy each other's company and we enjoy batting together. We stay in touch off the field as well," added Kohli.
Kohli also said, "We outbowled England's pacers the last time we played them (2016) at home. Bumrah will be keen to play his maiden home Test and it is exciting to know we have options like Siraj and Ishant as well."
