The BCCI on Wednesday announced the full squad of Team India for the upcoming home series against West Indies. Among the 18-member squad, 21-year-old Ravi Bishnoi earned his maiden call-up in Team India. The India vs West Indies series which is slated to start from February 6 comprises of 3 ODIs and 3 T20s. Ravi Bishnoi grabbed the eyeballs of the cricket experts when he was part of the Team India under-19 work cup squad held in South Africa back in 2020.
Following that, the 21-year-old leg-spinner became a household name when he impressed everyone by his quick googly and athletic fielding during his stint with Punjab Kings. Following his inclusion into Team India's limited-overs squad, Ravi Bishnoi has credited former Indian spinner Anil Kumble for making him a better cricketer. Anil Kumble was the head coach of Punjab Kings and Ravi Bishnoi used to play for the same team. However, the 21-years-old spinner has now been drafted by Lucknow Super Giants.
“I have learned a lot from Anil sir, and those lessons have helped me in becoming a better cricketer. He would always guide me on how to back myself and never lose hope under pressure. Those things were of immense help. He always told me to play to my strengths. The advice was that I should stick to my basics and just execute the plans. There was no experiment. He gave me the confidence to play freely,” the 21-year-old told Sportstar.
IND vs WI Squad
BCCI announced an 18-member squad of Team India. Following that West Indies also announced the squad for their tour to India. The IND vs WI squad will see some strong comeback. The IND vs WI squad will see the comeback of the 'Men in Blue' skipper Rohit Sharma as well as chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Deepak Hooda has also been named in the squad.
