The Indian women's football team lost 1-2 to Venezuela in the Arena do Amazonia, ending their campaign in the four-nation tournament without a win, despite playing higher-ranked teams such as Brazil.

India, who were ranked 57th in the FIFA rankings, went into their final game of the trip hoping for a solid outcome.

That was not to be, as the Venezuelan ladies battled back to win after falling behind in the first half.
India gained an early lead thanks to Grace Dangmei and led by one goal at halftime.
In a hard-fought encounter, the Venezuelans produced a tremendous comeback in the second half and won 2-1. Mariana and Barbara scored for the South American team.
Mariana's pace, in particular, has made a significant impact in the second half.
The Venezuelans took the lead in the 80th minute when Barbara scored, and they kept it until the final whistle.
Mariana struck the back of the net from point-blank range in the 50th minute to bring the game even.
The Indian scored the sole goal of the first half on a set-piece when Ritu Rani's pass was met by Grace in the 17th minute. Venezuela was looking for an equaliser when the goal was scored.
Venezuela pressed hard and put pressure on India, but the Indian defence, led by Aditi Chauhan, was up to the challenge.
India concluded the four-nation competition in Brazil with three losses in preparation for next month's AFC Asian Cup, which they will host, but the experience gained from this event might be useful when the continental tournament takes place.
India had previously lost 1-3 against Chile and 1-6 to Brazil.
From January 20 through February 6, the Asian Cup will be held.
