A Pakistani militant was killed and another was caught, while three others were injured by the Indian army during an operation to stop an infiltration attempt in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri along with the Line of Control on Monday night, sources said.
This was the biggest counter-infiltration operation close to the LoC in the Uri sector in Baramulla district on Saturday. The top army officials informed that they launched the operation, noticing suspicious movement.
Since September 18, multiple search operations have been ongoing in the Uri and Rampur sectors.

For the first time in several years, a Pakistan terrorist has been captured while making an effort to enter India.
This was the third infiltration undertaken in the past week that was botched by the Indian army.
The soldiers challenging the infiltrators lead to a gunfight, injuring three soldiers during the fire exchange between the two parties.
A search operation was underway in the region. This happened in Gawhalon village where the army had spotted the intruders.
Last week, three infiltrators were killed by the army in Hathlanga village and a huge stock of arms and ammunition were confiscated, including five AK rifles and 70 grenades.

Lt General DP Pandey who is the general commanding officer of the 15 Corps, in North Kashmir's Uri sector has termed these infiltration attempts as a “little bit of mischief” from across the Line of Control. He also told the media that people should not get troubled by these infiltration incidents or the situation as the Indian soldiers are alert and ready to deal with any such arising situation.
