Undoubtedly among the world's fiercest soldiers, Indin Navy Marin Commandos aka MARCOs on Friday rescued all 21 crew members aboard the cargo ship 'MV Lila Norfolk' that was hijacked by pirates. As per reports, MV Lila Norfolk cargo ship was hijacked by pirates on Friday evening near the coast of Somalia. In response, Indian Navy deployed a warship, maritime patrol aircraft, helicopters, and Predator MQ9B drones soon after a SOS call from the ship. The crew members on the hijacked ship included multiple Indians. Now, Indian Navy Rescue video has been breaking the internet with netizens witnessing MARCOs probably for the first time in action. Indian Navy's MARCOs are considered to be the country's top army.
Indian Navy Spokesperson took to its official X handle and shared MARCOs rescue operation video saying that Indian Navy Commandos have started sanitizing the hijacked ship. "#IndianNavy’s Swift Response to the Hijacking Attempt of MV Lila Norfolk in the North Arabian Sea. All 21 crew (incl #15Indians) onboard safely evacuated from the citadel."
"Sanitisation by MARCOs has confirmed absence of the hijackers. The attempt of hijacking by the pirates was probably abandoned with the forceful warning by the #IndianNavy MPA of interception by Indian Naval warship. #INSChennai is in the vicinity of MV and rendering support to restore the power generation & propulsion, and commence her voyage to next port of call."
In the Indian Navy rescue operation video, the MARCOs team can be seen on the vessel and carrying out rescue operations. As a result, Indian MARCOs video is going viral on social media and Americans are lauding the Indian Navy for carrying out the operation in such a professional manner.
In fact a social media user wrote, "The Indian Navy defeated the pirates. Someone should send this to Biden to show him how it’s done."
Another user wrote, "Marcos is so lethal. You never know when they come and when they leave after they are done with their work."
One more user wrote, "This administration makes everything seem impossible."
After Indian Navy's elite MARCOs commando rescued the cargo ship, Steve Kunzer, chief executive of the vessel's Dubai-based owners Lila Global, thanked the Indian Navy for the rescue. "We also want to thank the professionalism of our crew who reacted safely and responsibly under the circumstances," he said in a statement as reported.
It is pertinent to mention here that the attempted hijacking comes amid growing concerns over Houthi militants stepping up attacks on merchant vessels in the Red Sea amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.
