An Indian student studying in the Purdue University in Indiana, America was found dead on the university premises. The student identified as Neel Acharya was reported missing by his mother the previous day. According to Tippecanoe County Coroner’s office, the authorities were notified of the body around 11:30 AM on Sunday.
Neel Acharya was studying Computer Science and Data Science at Purdue University’s John Martinson Honors College in Indiana, USA.
Neel was deemed missing by his mother who posted on X, “Our son Neel Acharya has been missing since yesterday January 28 (12:30 am EST). He is studying at Purdue University in America. He was last seen by an Uber Driver who dropped him off at Purdue University.”
Responding to the post, the Consulate General of India in Chicago had that the Consulate was also in touch with Purdue University officials and Neel’s family. They will provide all possible support and assistance in the matter.
The cause of death of the student is currently unknown. This is the second Indian Student’s death in recent memory. Earlier this week, a homeless drug addict had killed an Indian student by smashing his head with a hammer inside a convenience store.
