The controversy around 'GenZ' show hosted by comedian Samay Raina- India's Got Latent has been under the scanner of both social media and the Police. Internet has been divided into two halves with some supporting Samay Raina's India's Got Latent and slamming the content creators community for not standing up for him, while others have joined the chorus of demand to arrest Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, and whosoever associated with his controversial show. After the controversy erupted over a vulgar 'incest' joke of Ranveer Allahbadia at India's Got Latent, the podcaster issued an apology. However, Samay Raina kept his silence.
Finally, after becoming a prime-time topic on most media channels, comedian Samay Raina broke his silence on Wednesday and deleted all the episodes of India's Got Latent from his YouTube channel. As a result, his millions of subscribers reached to the conclusion that India's Got Latent is now officially shut down. Below is what Samay Raina wrote in his Instagram story-
Samay Raina reaction to India's Got Latent controversy
Samay Raina wrote, "Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you."
Samay Raina's action came in the backdrop after Maharashtra Police intensified its crackdown on India's Got Latent and its Cyber Cell on Tuesday filed a case against the show following the controversy over remarks made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia. As many as 30-40 people have been booked by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell.
Screenwriter Varun Grover tweeted about the development. “Every comedian who appeared as a judge on it has been named in the FIR. They should be asked to guess their sentence and if it matches the sentence pronounced by the judge - they should be let go,” he wrote.
