An IndiGo flight going from Delhi to Srinagar suffered from violent turbulence which left the passengers terrified. A video of the incident is going viral on social media, which sees the passengers holding onto their seats and praying for their life amidst the violent shaking of the plane. The 30-second clip ends with panicked murmurs among the frightened passengers.
The flight took off from Delhi on Monday evening and suffered extreme turbulence due to the gusty winds sweeping through Srinagar. These winds are also responsible for heavy rain and snowfall in the area, due to which several flights have been delayed. This flight also reached Srinagar safely but was delayed.
The airline has since issued an advisory, which said flights in Srinagar are being affected by “inclement” weather. The Met department has also warned of an "extended wet spell" across Jammu and Kashmir until Wednesday afternoon. It predicted light to moderate rain and snow in most places, including plains and lower reaches.
