Airline major IndiGo on Monday said
the entire dues shall be possibly paid
against credit shells by January 31, 2021. According to the airline, since the continuation
of operations in May, IndiGo has been rapidly refunding dues which are outstanding
to travellers whose flights had been cancelled during the lockdown.
The airline has already cleared approx to 1000 crore INR as compensation, that covered 90 per cent out of the total amount ,remaining to the customers.
This is said by Ronojoy Dutta , The Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo.

"The unexpected commencement of Covid-19 led as pandemic for whole the world ; becoming reason of historical lockdown at everywhere. These consequences brought our operations to complete halt by the end of March of this year. Since our incoming cash flows had declined ,reason being we were unable to instantly process refunds for cancelled flights and had to create credit shells in order to refund them back to customers in upcoming period ."
"However, with the resumption of operations and a steady increase in demand for air travel, our priority has been to refund the credit shell amounts in an expedited manner."
