Sunil Jakhar, Ravneet Bittu, Sunil Jakhar Ravneet Bittu Punjab CM, Ravneet Bittu Punjab CM Ambition: After months of speculation and reports confirming Sunil Jakhar's resignation from Punjab BJP President's post, the veteran leader has finally broken his silence. Not only this, but Sunil Jakhar has also commented on MoS Ravneet Bittu's ambition to be the Punjab CM candidate for the next elections of the BJP.

As per reports, Sunil Jakhar in an interview voiced his concerns about Ravneet Bittu’s focus on the CM position while the party struggles to establish a firm political base in the state. In a candid interview, Jakhar emphasized the importance of forming a government before discussing leadership roles. He stated, "People want a Chief Minister with a good character who can genuinely address Punjab’s issues. Political leaders today are more focused on personal gains rather than working for the state’s welfare."

Referring to Ravneet Bittu’s aspirations, Jakhar added, "First, form the government, then think about the CM."

Jakhar’s remarks came after Bittu expressed his intention to be a contender for the Chief Minister's position in future political scenarios. Jakhar, who has distanced himself from active party programs for the past three months, also acknowledged the failure of the BJP to secure any seats in Punjab during the Lok Sabha elections. He considered this his personal failure and decided to resign from the post.

It is pertinent to mention here that there are murmurs in Punjab's political fraternity that Sunil Jakhar and many BJP leaders of Punjab are not happy with the High Command awarding Ravneet Bittu an MoS position despite losing the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from Ludhiana. Furthermore, the BJP has made Bittu a Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan, but Jakhar who is a veteran leader has not been given any portfolio. However, True Scoop News cannot confirm these claims.

On Ravneet Bittu's remark to investigate farmer leaders' properties

Jakhar during a press conference on Thursday also slammed Bittu over his remarks that advocated investigation of farmer leaders' properties. Jakhar said that before inquiring about farmer leaders' properties, an investigation into political leaders' properties must be done.

On his resignation as Punjab BJP Chief

Jakhar took responsibility for the party’s inability to secure any seats in Punjab during the recent Lok Sabha elections, despite an increase in the BJP’s national vote share. He explained, “This is why I submitted my resignation to the high command. I raised several issues related to Punjab with them, but I was not able to deliver the desired results.” Jakhar also distanced himself from party activities for the past several months, signaling his dissatisfaction with the party’s performance and leadership.

The former Punjab BJP chief stressed the need for a leader who prioritizes the state’s welfare over personal interests. Jakhar’s resignation and his remarks on Bittu’s CM ambitions are expected to further intensify the political debate within the state as the party looks for new leadership amid by-elections in Punjab.

Sunil Jakhar appeals for PM Modi's intervention in Haryana Assembly land in Chandigarh

Sunil Jakhar took to his X handle and appealed PM Modi to intervene in the matter of allotment of land for Haryana Assembly in Chandigarh. Sunil Jakhar strongly opposed the Centre's decision to give 10 acres of land to Haryana in Chandigarh for a separate assembly. The Environment Ministry gave its approval yesterday and since then the decision is being termed as a betrayal of Punjab and AAP, Congress and SAD have been criticising it. Now the BJP state president himself has joined this list, who believes that Chandigarh is not just a geographical area but, it is deeply connected to the sentiments of the people of Punjab.

In a post on his x account, Sunil Jakhar expressed his displeasure and appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally intervene to reconsider the decision and get it revoked. He said that this decision could affect the strong relations between Punjab and the Centre and hurt the cultural and religious identity of Punjab.
