A year ago, actress Ankita Lokhande was devastated following the demise of her ex-boyfriend actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Ever since then, she has been very vocal about Sushant’s untimely demise. She’s seen supporting his family and demanding justice for him.
The ‘Pavitra Rishta’ fame Ankita Lokhande dated Sushant for almost six years. They fell for each other on the sets of Ekta Kapoor’s show ‘Pavitra Rishta’ when they were just newbies in the TV industry. However, the duo split in 2016, breaking the hearts of hundreds and thousands of fans who use to ship them.
After their breakup, there were reports that Sushant has been avoiding award shows because he did not want to bump into his ex-girlfriend in Ankita. But later Sushant had affirmed that things were friendly between them and the duo stayed in contact even after the breakup.
The duo was so perfect together that long after they parted ways, people still ask why did they break up. Some of the media reports claimed that Sushant broke up with Ankita after gaining fame. Whereas some say that the couple split up because they wanted different things.
According to a close source to the couple, ‘Ankita and Sushant were both wanting different things. Ankita wanted to start a family meanwhile Sushant was not ready for it as he had just entered the Bollywood.’
“Ankita was also upset because she missed out on an important film with a major superstar because of Sushant’s clash with Bollywood’s one of the top production houses,” the source revealed.
Reportedly, Ankita’s past experiences had made her very insecure about her relationship with Sushant. She constantly used to worry that it would not work out. One of Sushant’s friends stated that Sushant did his best to reassure her by giving her details of his shoot schedule and inviting her to drop by anytime.
Despite all of Sushant’s efforts, Ankita admitted that she wasn’t happy. She couldn’t control her fears and eventually, Sushant started reacting differently. “It broke her heart, and his too, but there's little they could do about it,” said a close friend.
When the duo broke up, both decided to remain silent. However, after Sushant’s untimely demise the topic of their breakup reappeared. This time Ankita chose to speak up. She said she chose to remain silent because she did not want to make ‘tamasha’ of her relationship with the actor.
Ankita said, “Aaj log mujhko aakar bol rahe hain, tumne chhoda Sushant ko” (Today, people are accusing me of leaving Sushant. The actor further said that nobody knows about my thing. “I am not blaming Sushant or anyone here. But, I think he made his choice very clear. He wanted to go on with his career and he moved on. But for over two years, I was dealing with so many emotions.”
“For me, it was a very difficult time. I was finished, I did not know what to do after that. He chose his ways but I was craving for love and emotions,” Ankita revealed.
Now, Ankita Lokahnde has been dating Vicky Jain. They are in a relationship since 2017 and recently she teased fans about her wedding.
