New Delhi: Today Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi said that several ‘surgical strikes’ will be launched on Narendra Modi government by his party, in the upcoming days. He pointed out that the biggest issue in the country was ‘joblessness’ and the Modi government has ‘failed completely’ to address it.
Hours after the government placed the Interim Budget on 2019 before the parliament, the Congress Chief told the media that the amount of Rs 6000 per year that has been assured by the government in the Budget was just a pittance. “You can waive Rs 3.5 lakh crore of 15 people, but give only Rs 17 per day to farmers. What else is this if not an insult?”

The term ‘surgical strike’ has been freely used throughout the day. BJP ally Ram Vilas Paswan welcomed the budget in the morning saying it is the ‘second surgical strike’. “The first one was on the border with bullets. This is the second one, as we are going into the 2019 polls with ballots. We will win with two-third majority”, the Bihar leader said.
Reacting to this, senior Congress leader Shahi Tharoor said, “The so-called surgical strike in Pakistan did not prevent any of the bad things that have continued from there. If they call this surgical strike, then we are anticipating failure in advance.”

The Interim Budget for the year 2019 was presented by Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday morning.
