On November 19 every year, the world celebrates International Men's Day to honour the invaluable contributions of men to society, families, and communities worldwide. Talking about 2024 International Men's Day, this year's theme is "Positive Male Role Models".

In India, there are only a handful of celebrities who have stood up for men's rights. In fact, these handfuls of celebs, have gone beyond their way and released videos on advocating men's rights. On the occasion of International Men's Day 2024, True Scoop News brings you a list of celebs and Bollywood actors who have actually advocated for Men's rights. 

Bollywood actors & celebs list advocating men's rights

1) Ayushmann Khurrana

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana in 2022 featured in The Man Company's YouTube and beautifully narrated 'who is called Gentleman' via his poetry-like narration. Ayushmann Khurrana's poem titled 'Gentleman kise kehte hai?' is still shared on social media by users, especially on the occasion of International Men's Day. The video was shared by the YouTube channel with the caption, "What makes a true gentleman? Is it his suit and his tie? Or the fact that he isn’t afraid to cry? Is it the way he shoulders tradition? Or the fact that he is a good son? The way he treats women Or the way he is a master in the kitchen? Is it the way he stands up for what is right The way he is always fair in a fight? Or is it in his heart, Which pains when another is hurt?"

2) Zakir Khan

Comedian & actor Zakir Khan who is also known for his shayari joined the handful of celebrities list who advocated for men's rights by releasing a special video. Zakir Khan shared the video on the occasion of Men's Day 2022. Zakir Khan shared the video on his YouTube channel. In his video, the comedian narrated why is it necessary for 'all men to take time out for themselves'. 

3)  Adil Hussain

Veteran Bollywood actor Adil Hussain who has acted in movies like Kabir Singh, Ulajh, etc, has also dedicated a beautiful but powerful video advocating men's rights. Adil Hussain's International Men's Day Video was shared 3 years back by Mankind Pharma. The description of the video reads, "Society often turns a blind eye to men’s behaviour. This International Men’s Day, Mankind encourages you to educate and be aware of the behaviours that can be uncomfortable and downright wrong. Have a talk with men and growing boys around you to tell them about the things that #NahiChaltaHai (it is not okay)."

Adil Hussain's Men's Day video is a hard-hitting satirical poem that outlines the stereotypes that are linked with men or boys. The video basically outlines how educating your sons or male members of the family is very important as not everything they do is acceptable. 

4) Bhuvan Bam

YouTuber & actor Bhuvan Bam famous for 'BB Ki Vines' has also spoken up for Men's rights on International Men's Day. Bhuvan Bam's video was shared on Men's XP in 2021. The powerful video was shared with the title, 'Don't Man Up'. The video was shared with the caption, "Generations of men have been quietly suffering from outdated norms and toxic notions of masculinity. Age-old adages like "Men Don't Cry", "Toughen Up", or "Be The Man Of The House", have harmed men more than they'd let know.
