Haryana authorities have suspended internet services in 17 of its 22 districts till 5 pm on January 30 after farmers started gathering and making their way towards Delhi. The decision has been taken given the spread of "provocative misinformation and fake news" over the agitation.
Internet services were already suspended in Sonipat, Palwal and Jhajjhar districts.
Massive violence broke out at the Singhu border protest site after people in huge groups claiming to be locals reached there to vacate the area, resulting in a clash between the locals and the farmers, prompting police to resort to baton charge and use tear gas shells.
In the violence, Delhi Police SHO (Alipur) Pradeep Paliwal was injured after a man attacked him with a sword. Some others were also wounded. The police have arrested the man who attacked Delhi SHO.
Meanwhile, nine people were arrested and sent to Tihar Jail in connection with the attack on police personnel during a violent protest at Burari ground yesterday.

The protesters were raising provocative slogans and were adamant on going to Red Fort, adding they even tore uniforms of police personnel, said the police official.
Earlier today, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia visited the Ghazipur border where farmers are protesting to see for water and basic arrangements there. "Arrangements for water and toilets were made last night. I am here to inspect if arrangements are in place," Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said.
