Int’l Emmys Awards 2021: No wins for Aarya, Vir Das & Nawazuddin Siddiqui

The award for Best Drama 2021 has been won by Israeli production Tehran.

The 49th International Emmys Awards, which recognise excellence in television programmes produced outside of the United States, was hosted in New York City tonight, November 23. The International Emmys 2021 was given to shows in 16 categories, including non-English language shows.


There are 44 nominations from 24 countries across 11 categories. Aarya, starring Sushmita Sen, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Vir Das, received nominations for India. But all Indian nominees were returned home empty-handed.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui was nominated for “Best Actor” for his performance in the web series Serious Men, Vir Das is nominated in the Comedy Segment and Aarya, directed by Ram Madhvani, has been nominated for Best Drama.
