Three months later after the first announcement of the launch of iOS 16 at WWDC 2022. Apple finally is rolling out its latest operating system on the 12th of this month.
The company at its annual mega event ‘Far Out’ last night announced the date of the release. The iOS 16 RC is rolling out today for iPhone developers, whereas, the update can be downloaded by everyone else on the 12th of this month.
However, for iPad owners, the wait is going to be slightly more, probably a few more weeks before they can enjoy the latest update with iOS16.
What is contained in the new iOS16?
The iOS16 isn’t a total revamp of Apple’s mobile operating system, but it indeed comes up with a completely new rework of the Lock Screen.
Once take up the new updates iPhone users will be able to customize their Lock Screens in multiple varieties of ways, which include highlighting their favorite photos, customizing font styles, and adding widgets that offer an interactive glance.
The latest update comes with an option for multiple lock screens of different styles and you can make a switch among them at will. The AI-enabled features will come up with suggestions to make changes on the screen from your library.
Another option that the new update brings along is the notifications and the customization options that it carries. Notifications also rise from the bottom of the screen so that they don’t get in your way. Live Activities are also making their way to the Lock Screen in iOS 16.
The latest launched higher versions in the iPhone division the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max come with an always-on display feature, with this you can see the time, widgets, and Live Activities without ever touching your iPhone.
Apart from the customizable option, the new update will lend another upgrade that iOS 16 offers in the form of iCloud Shared Photo Library. As the name suggests, this feature makes it easier to share photos with your friends and family members.
Once you set up a shared library, you can share photos straight from the Camera app. The new update will provide the users with an option to edit and unsend messages. The message can be edited and unsend within a stipulated time frame along with certain limitations.
Among other new features and improvements in the latest upgrade includes a redesigned focus experience, more accurate search results in Mail, end-to-end encryption for passkeys, Live Text for video, smarter dictation with automatic punctuation, and multi-stop routing in Maps.
Besides all the above-mentioned features Apple is also offering redesigned Focus experience, more accurate search results in Mail, Apple Pay Later, the ability to track orders in Wallet, a rebuilt Home app, and more.
