Kolkata Knight Riders have managed to get to a total of 185 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their match against Delhi Capitals courtesy a Dre Russ special after early setbacks. The Muscle-Russel scored 62 runs off 28 balls hitting 6 massive sixes.
Delhi Capitals had a great start with ball picking up 5 wickets for 101 runs but their party was spoiled by Andre Russel who took on each and every bowler to take the KKR total to a safe one.
Nepalese player Sandeep Lachimane was the most economical of the bowlers giving away just 29 runs.
"It was tough for me after getting hit on the shoulder. Karthik kept talking to me throughout the innings. I told DK that I was getting the pain, so there was no point of hanging there, I played my shots. It worked for me in the end and I think we can defend this total. At one point we were thinking of 150 but the partnership between me and DK has helped us post 185," said Russel after a blitz knock.
It is still an open contest as Delhi Capitals have got all the ammunition to chase down this target set by KKR.
