Kings XI Punjab won their second consecutive game at their home ground Mohali with Sam Curran emerging as a hero for his side picking up the first hat-trick of the season. Delhi Capitals were cruising towards an easy victory before Sam Curran saved his side from a loss.
Kings XI earlier set a target of 166 runs after a tight bowling performance by Delhi Capitals. David Miller was the highest scorer from Kings XI side and Chris Morris picked up the most wickets for DC.
From Punjab, Sam Curran picked up 4 wickets including a hat-trick and was adjudged 'Man of the Match'.
"Great win for the guys. I tried to put a performance for my team. Luckily enough, we scraped to 166, all the six bowlers were excellent. I have worked a lot on my batting over the last few months. I like to work hard on my batting, bowling and fielding. I have opened in school cricket, but think this was the first time in professional cricket. Hopefully, we keep winning games. I didn't really know (about the hat-trick). The crowd got really loud, I couldn't hear myself. Ash told me what to do. Ryan Harris was standing at the third man region. Against the Iocal batters, I had to ask our players, "Where does he hit?". Shami got two amazing overs in the end which helped," said Curran after receiving 'Man of the Match' award.
This was a rare instance of a team getting 5 ducks in an innings and with this victory, Kings XI have moved second on the table.
