Punjab Kings star batsman Chris Gayle on Monday has created history while playing the fourth match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Gayle has become the first-ever cricketer to hit 350 sixes in IPL history after he smashed a short ball thrown by Ben Stokes into the mid-wicket stand. 

Notably, before this Gayle was already on top of the six-hitter in the IPL and needed just one more to complete 350 sixes during PBKS's first match of IPL 2021 against Rajasthan Royals. Today's match is being held at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. 

Gayle in today's match has departed for a 40 run score off 24 deliveries and now has 351 sixes in the IPL from 133 matches. 

In the list of six-hitter, Royal Challengers Bangalore's AB de Villiers stands second with 237 sixes while Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni is at third position with 216 sixes. However, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma and RCB Skipper Virat Kohli are also on the list of five top six-smashers.

Chris Gayle is the 7th highest scorer in the IPL with 4812 runs from 133 matches. He also has an illustrious career of holding multiple batting records in the IPL  with 351 sixes. 6 hundreds, and the highest individual score (175 not out), and much more. 

Earlier in the evening, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to field first in their first match game against Punjab Kings Stars. PBKS has made an astonishing score of 221 with 6 out and has set a challenging run-target of 222 for Rajasthan Royals.
