In a pursuit to achieve normalcy, major relaxations have started to come now. Indian Railways on Wednesday released the list of 200 Special trains that will run from June 1 and said that these will be fully reserved trains having both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned classes. However, another problem has come into limelight related to the booking of tickets. 

People who had bought train tickets through agents have not received their refund yet. They are facing a major problem, as IRCTC has not refunded the money of tickets of canceled trains during the lockdown.


As per agents,  the problem is not getting resolved despite frequent appeals by them to the railways. However, On the other hand, IRCTC says that money has been refunded to the accounts of the principal agents. Tickets for trains canceled during lockdown are being refunded. The railway will refund the tickets booked through the ticket window, but the refund of tickets booked by the agents of IRCTC is still pending. Under IRCTC, more than 100 principal agents work across the country. Under them are retail agents from whom people book tickets. IRCTC refunds money to RDF accounts of Principal Agents. This account is like a wallet. This may issue tickets again, but cannot be refunded in cash.

Principal agent Chirag Shah said, 'After the lockdown, there was no result of raising this issue in front of the Railway and Railway Minister. The principal agents were forced to take shelter in the Delhi High Court. The court has ordered IRCTC to refund the bank account.

IRCTC sought evidence

Chirag Shah says that he has refunded about 40 thousand PNR. There is no way to give evidence to so many people. According to retail agent Sachin Aggarwal, some customers have also warned of legal action. Principal agent Chirag Shah says, 'When new tickets are not being booked, what to do with this wallet money? It cannot be returned to the retail agent. ' At the same time, retail agent Sachin Aggarwal says, "Earlier, those who canceled tickets used to give money to the passengers who booked tickets. Now how do we return 100 percent cash?
