On Sunday, the exam was held for 78 posts of Naib Tehsildar in which the question paper in Punjabi was not given. The aspirants opposed it. They claimed that it was in violation of the Punjab Language Act 1967 and the Punjab Language (Amendment) Act 2008. They also said that most of the work of Naib Tehsildar was done in Punjabi. Aspirants said giving question papers only in English is a fraud to them.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has also claimed that the AAP government of Punjab has excluded Punjabi from the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) exams. Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officers are selected through this exam. Sirsa requested Mann not to do such frauds with Punjabis. AAP's Delhi government was also under attack due to discrimination against Punjabis and Sikhs. However, there has been no response from the Mann government or the Aam Aadmi Party on this issue yet.
Sirsa also claimed that Punjabi was banned in Delhi as well. Sirsa said that after the Aam Aadmi Party government was formed, this happened in Delhi too. Punjabi was banned in schools. The recruitment of Punjabi teachers was stopped. Even the Punjabi clerks accompanying the ministers were removed. A Sikh minister was also dropped from the Delhi government.
