Amid the rising speculations of Prashant Kishor joining the Congress, Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with party’s top brass to discuss what role could be offered to him.
On July 22, key leaders including Kamal Nath, Mallikarjun Kharge, AK Antony, Ajay Maken, Anand Sharma, Harish Rawat, Ambika Soni, and KC Venugopal met via video conference to discuss the issue.
Reportedly, poll strategist Prashant Kishor is said to have outlined a strategy for the Congress party, including a role for himself. Prashant Kishor, according to several media reports, wants to be more involved in the Congress party's electoral strategy, coordination, management, and alliance-making decisions.
Kishor also wants to formally join the Congress, and negotiations are currently taking place concerning the revival plan and how to move forward with Kishor's proposal.
According to a senior source who was present at the meeting, Rahul Gandhi discussed the prospect of Prashant Kishor entering the Congress rather than being an outside advisor. The advantages and disadvantages of such a move were considered, and ideas were offered.
Prashant Kishor, in general, seemed to have the potential to provide value to the party. However, according to the senior Congress member, his function needed to be defined and riders attached.
“This is the time for new ideas and initiatives to be introduced. There is no harm in bringing Prashant Kishor into the party; however, the exact role he would play in the party may be discussed,” said another party leader.
“The Congress has tremendous talent and potential, and we must be willing to adapt and change for the better,” he added.
During a meeting with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi earlier this month, Kishor presented a reform and revival plan to them. Kishor was also said to have met Priyanka Gandhi.
According to a popular English Daily, the Congress party is debating a reform and revival plan suggested by political strategist Prashant Kishor. Kishor's strategy is aimed at making the party battle-ready for the 2024 general elections when it would face off against Modi and the BJP's political machinery.

Congress Working Committee members are meeting in small groups to discuss the revival agenda.
Kishor is currently the Principal Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. But if reports are to be believed, PK will be announced as part of Indian National Congress and would be given a top post to head next general elections.
