Jalandhar Counter Intelligence has busted the module of the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI in Firozpur, Punjab. The team of Counter Intelligence arrested from Ferozepur the sarpanch of village Jogewal, working for terrorist Harvinder Singh alias Rinda sitting in Pakistan and Harpreet Singh alias Happy Sanghera sitting in Italy.
Harpreet Singh's job was to give money to terrorists as well as to give them shelter. Along with being a drug dealer, the arrested sarpanch used to provide weapons at the behest of Rinda and Happy.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the module being run by Pakistani intelligence agency ISI through Rinda and Lakhbir Singh alias Landa was busted in Ferozepur by conducting the third operation against the gangsters. He said that the arrested accused was identified as Harpreet Singh alias Har, Sarpanch of Jogewal village under district Ferozepur.
The DGP said that last week, a team of Counter Intelligence led by AIG Navjot Singh Mahal raided and arrested Baljit Singh Malli and Gurbaksh Singh alias Gora Sandhu. The lead was received about the interrogation of both that Jogewal's sarpanch Harpreet Singh is very close with the terrorist Harpreet Singh alias Happy Sanghera, sitting in Italy. He had also told that he came to know about the location of the weapons only at the behest of the village sarpanch.
An AK-56 rifle, a magazine, and 90 live cartridges were recovered by the police from the two arrested terrorists Baljit Singh Malli and Gurbaksh Singh alias Gora Sandhu from their stated place. The DGP said that the arrested sarpanch Harpreet Singh alias Har has admitted in the police interrogation that he was in contact with Lakhbir Singh alias Landa sitting in Canada and Harpreet Singh alias Happy Sanghera sitting in Italy.
At the behest of Lakhbir Singh Landa, he had provided safe shelter to one of his companions, Jagjit Singh alias Jota, resident of Mehta Road, Amritsar, at
Makhu in Ferozepur for ten days. The DGP said that four criminal cases are going on against Jota and he is presently lodged in Amritsar Central Jail.
Baljit Singh Malli, who was caught along with the sarpanch, had told during interrogation that he had received a consignment of weapons on Saap Lohian-Makkhu road of Sanctuary area in July 2022 only at the behest of Harpreet Singh Happy, a terrorist sitting in Italy.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the accused sarpanch Harpreet Singh alias Har has not only been involved with terrorists but has also been working with drug smugglers. He said that the sarpanch has admitted in custody that he was also involved in drug smuggling. He used to work closely with drug smuggler Nachhatar Singh alias Moti, who was recently caught in Tarn Taran. He used to do the work of transporting the consignment of Nachhatar from here to there.
