Indian Cricket Team on Tuesday created history and broke the fortress of Australia in Brisbane. India defeated Australia in the final test by three wickets. Interestingly, Australia was undefeated at the Gabba for the past 32 years but the Young Indian Team thrashed the Kangaroos at their home.
Batting first, Australia put up 369, riding on a magnificent ton from Marnus Labuschagne (108). In reply, Team India fired 336, with Washington Sundar (62) and Shardul Thakur (67) being at the helm.
The tourists bowled out Australia for 294 as Mohammed Siraj took his maiden five-wicket haul. It all went down to the final hour of the Test, wherein India chased down 328.
What made the difference in the second test is Rishabh Pant's blistering knock. Pant played the knock of 89 runs from 139 balls. For his innings, Pant was also chosen as the payer of the match.
On winning the player of the match, Pant said, " This one of my biggest days in life. The support the team has given me even when I was not playing has been incredible. It's a dream come true. We've been practicing hard after the first Test. The team management always backs me and tells me you are match-winner and you have to go out there and win and I am happy I did it today. It was a fifth-day pitch and the ball was turning."
