Mohali, Jan 24: Member Lok Sabha from Sri Anandpur Sahib and former Union Minister Manish Tewari today said that only Congress party can develop Mohali, which from time to time worked for strengthening the democratic structure and overall development in the country.
MP Tewari was addressing an election meeting in favour of Mohali Municipal Corporation candidate Paramjit Singh Happy from Ward No. 12, Phase-7, where Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu was specially present. He said that the Panchayati Raj system was introduced by the Congress under the leadership of then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
The Congress central government had ensured that local body elections were held every five years. In such a scenario, for the overall development of Mohali, it is imperative that Congress wins here, so accurate and timely decisions can be taken at the corporate level regarding development works.
Earlier, MP Tewari mentioned the hard work done by Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu during the Corona period in strengthening the health facilities in the state.
At the same time, Health Minister Sidhu said that Congress has always worked for the development of Mohali. On the contrary, the previous SAD-BJP government had not given a single project to Mohali in the last 10 years due to which Mohali had lagged behind in terms of development. But when the Congress came to power in the state three years ago, various development projects were started here, including setting up of medical colleges.
He said that he had gone with MP Tewari to inspect the land of the medical college and if the coronavirus had not come, the college would have started functioning from March. The project of the medical college was also given by the Centre Govt ( Congress) but was suppressed by the BJP-SAD govt in Punjab at that time.

He appealed to the people to vote for Congress for the overall development of Mohali.
