On Monday, once again the incident of stone-pelting was seen in Jahangirpuri of the capital Delhi.
It is being told that this stone was pelted by Delhi Police while taking a woman for questioning. Given the situation, a heavy police force along with Rapid Action Force (RAF) is deployed in the area.
It is being told that the police had arrived for questioning the wife of Sonu Sheikh, who was seen firing during the Jahangirpuri violence on Monday when suddenly the crowd gathered there pelted stones at the police.
According to the information, once again the incident of stone-pelting came to light in the Jahangirpuri area on Monday afternoon.
This time some people tried to pelt stones in protest against the police action.
However, a large police force in the area overpowered the people and despite stone pelting, the police team took the woman, whose husband Sonu Sheikh is accused of firing, for questioning. He is seen shooting in a video.
Accused Sonu Sheikh, a resident of C block of Jahangirpuri, is absconding since the incident. So the police team had reached his house to take his wife with them for questioning, but Sonu's wife and some of her close people first opposed it and then also tried to pelt stones at the police.
In search of him, Delhi Police is trying to gather information about his possible whereabouts by interrogating people from his close network of crime branches.
The DCP said that on 17/04/22 a video was going viral on social media in which a person (in a blue kurta) was shown firing during the riots in the Jahangirpuri area on 16/04/22.
The police team of the North-West district had gone to search the house of the accused and questioned his family members.
In retaliation, the relatives of the accused threw two stones at the police. Legal action is being taken in this matter. One person has been detained and the situation is under control.
Significantly, violence broke out between two communities in Jahangirpuri after stone-pelting on the procession taken out on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday.
Along with vandalizing it, some vehicles were set on fire. A total of 9 people were injured in this violence, including one sub-inspector being shot, out of which 8 are policemen. Now along with the local police, the crime branch has also been engaged to investigate this incident.

The accused were identified as Salim alias Chikna (36), Zahid (20), Ansar (35), Shahzad (33), Mukhtyaar Ali (28), Mohd. Ali (18), Amir (19), Aksar (26), Noor Alam (28), Md. Aslam (21), Zakir (22), Akram (22), Imtiaz (29), Mohd. Ali (27), Ahir (37), Sheikh Saurabh (42), Suraj (21), Neeraj (19), Suken (45), Suresh (43) and Sujeet Sarkar (38), all residents of Jahangirpuri.
