Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and party's candidate from Patliputra constituency in Bihar, Misa Bharti on Thursday sparked a massive row after she promised to jail Prime Minister Narendra Modi. RJD Supremo Lalu Yadav's daughter, Misa Bharti while giving an interview stated that if the I.N.D.I.A block comes to power after Lok Sabha Elections 2024 if it will jail Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders. Below is what RJP MP Misa Bharti said-
"We are talking about the implementation of MSP and he (PM Modi) sees appeasement in that...He always accuses our family of corruption whenever he arrives here (Bihar). Nobody is talking about electoral bonds. If the people of this country give the INDIA Alliance a chance (to form the government), then from PM Modi to BJP leaders, they will be behind bars..."
Misa Bharti's comment on PM Modi sparked a massive row and the BJP senior leaders hit back at her remaining the RJD MP about Lalu Yadav's fodder scam.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri talking to a newswire said, "She said that when we will come in power, first she should be asked what they think? Till 2029 is fixed, what will happen after 2029, we will see that. Their (RJD) scam such as fodder scam. They built a road on a piece of paper and never implemented it on the ground...."
Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said, "First she (Misa Bharti) should think about herself and her family. These people are stuck in so many types of scams and corruptions. these are not the allegations we have made, the court has punished them. They should stop making fun of democracy and judiciary by saying such things."
BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi said, "Misa Bharti should remember why she was named Misa. At the time of Emergency, a very malignant act was introduced by the Congress - MISA (Maintenance of Internal Security Act), under which anyone who jailed couldn't approach the court, or apply for bail. Lalu Yadav was arrested by the Congress government under that Act, after which he vowed to finish the Congress. He, hence, named his daughter Misa. Has she forgotten her father's vow?"
