An ex-serviceman, 45, who owned a restaurant in Jaipur's Kalwar neighborhood was allegedly killed late on Saturday night by two brothers who work there. According to the police, the three were eating dinner together when the restaurant owner scolded them for the Egg Bhurji they had prepared for him that was overcooked.
This started a heated argument that turned into a physical altercation. After pulling down the restaurant's shutter, the two accused left the victim lying in a pool of blood and rushed away. A murder case has been reported to the police.
According to SHO Ravindra Pratap Singh of the Kalwar police station, the event happened late on Saturday night when the deceased, identified as Hameer Singh, requested that his staff prepare Egg Bhurji for him. "He accused the two employees of overcooking the dish and abused them. This irked the duo, who beat him up with hockey sticks and batons," Mr. Singh said.

At 12.30 am on Sunday, a man who lives adjacent to the eatery alerted authorities to the occurrence. "When he saw the shutter of the shop closed, he called up Hameer Singh but received no response. He then informed the police control room," Singh said.
Then, a dog squad, senior cops, FSL experts, and a group showed up at the location. Mr. Singh added, “The two brothers, Bablu and Sunil, who worked in the restaurant were missing. The body of Singh was lying in a pool of blood. We took his body for post-mortem. He seemed to have been beaten up badly with injuries on his face and other parts of the body.”
