To curb the further spread of coronavirus epidemic in the state, the Punjab government has been timely issuing COVID preventive measures for the general public. Now, the government is all set to take stern actions against those who violate the guidelines and poses a threat to other lives. Violators of the norms will be imposed penalty. A list has also generated.
To keep a sharp eye on such violators, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar has been given the authority to issue challans to the officers coming under his jurisdiction within the limits of Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar. The list of penalties is for better management and control of COVID-19 is as follows as per the letter of the Punjab Government:
i) For not wearing the mask in public places: Rs 500/-
ii) For violating the home quarantine instructions: Rs 2000/-
iii) For spitting at public places: Rs 500/-
iv)For violating social distancing norms by owners of shops/ commercial places: Rs 2000/-
v) For violating the social distancing norms by vehicle owners will be fined as follows:
* Buses: Rs 3000/-
*Cars: Rs 2000/-
* Auto-rickshaws/ Two-wheelers: Rs 500/-
