Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today conducted a thorough inspection of different areas across the city following heavy monsoon rains. The visit aimed to assess the effectiveness of the District Administration's preparations in managing the waterlogging issues.
Dr. Aggarwal, leading from the front, visited key locations including Nkodar Road, Kapurthala Road, HMV College Road, Mahavir Marg, and others. He issued on-the-spot directions to the officials of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation to deploy adequate manpower and machinery at all crucial points to ensure that residents do not face any inconvenience due to water accumulation.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the District Administration Jalandhar has implemented robust arrangements to tackle waterlogging by activating all disposal pumps across the city.
He also inspected various pumping stations to ensure they were functioning optimally to expedite water disposal during the rains. He also said that several pumping sets were kept on stand by mode for quick disposal of rainwater, as per situation.
Dr. Aggarwal assured the public that all necessary preventive measures have been taken to maintain smooth traffic flow and minimize disruption during heavy rainfall. He reiterated the administration's commitment to leaving no stone unturned in keeping the city free from waterlogging during the monsoon season so that possibility any kind of water borne disease to be eliminated .
Meanwhile ADC Urban development Jasbir Singh also visit the municipal councils like Bhogpur , Adampur , Noormahal , kartarpur etc to supervise the efforts to drain out the rain water .
