District Administration Jalandhar is organizing dedicated
Covid-19 vaccination camps across the district to cover all school teachers by
the August 25, said Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner said that as many as 22 exclusive camps were being held in the district to realize the aim of covering all school teachers within a short span of time. These camps will be held at CHC Kala Bakra, Adampur, Phillaur, PHC Bilga, Noormahal, Jandiala, Barapind, Jamsher Khas, CHC Kartarpur, Nakodar, CHC Lohian Khas, Shahkot, Mehatpur, and Urban Jalandhar, he said adding that no one without completion of their vaccination would be allowed to attend school classes.
He categorically mentioned that any kind of laxity in this task would be dealt with heavy hands as safety of children cannot be compromised at any cost.
The DC said that the state government has made it mandatory to cover all school teachers through mammoth vaccination drives by the given deadline as safety of children was of prime concern. He asked the District Education Officer to intensify vaccination drives in the schools so as to achieve this goal within the stipulated time-frame.
He further directed the education and health department to ensure strict adherence of Covid-19 appropriate behavior in schools including social distancing, masking, hand sanitizing, and others. He asked health officials to ensure random RT PCR testing in schools so that virus spread could be kept under check. He stated vaccination of school staff by August 25, would be achieved in a mission mode.

The DC further appealed all the teachers who have not completed their vaccination yet to approach these camps and get vaccinated so as to ensure strict compliance of government orders.
